The Utrecht University School of Governance (USG) studies public issues and public organisations in their interaction with the developments in politics and society. This may concern public organizations such as government institutions, but also private organizations with public duties such as hospitals, housing corporations and service companies.

Our main focus is how these organizations deal with current social issues and give shape to their public responsibility.
USG organizes programmes for students and professionals, conducts internationally-leading academic and applied research, and is a highly esteemed partner in the field of training, in-company courses and consultancy. Our approach is characterized by a combination of governance insights, practical applicability and high accessibility.

USBO / SElab
The Social Enterprise Lab Utrecht (SElab) is connected tob the USG, though operates as a social enterprise at the crossings of the academic world and the social enterprise sector. It strives to connect students, academics, professionals experts and entrepreneurs to cooperate on finding solutions for public challenges. Both on the aspect of learning and realisation.

The motto: action —> learning —> impact.

SElab seeks to enlarge en strengthen the capabilities of civic actors to use social enterprising to realise social innovation and to find a new balance in social and economic value creation.
